ALL HAIL SATAN r00

I have never had a Clamato. However it makes me happy you aren't buying the premade Bud light ones...

Scotch Green Label... I feel bad for putting ice in it. But I did. I put ice in it... (But don't worry I put a lot of Scotch to make up for the ice!)

I'm also trying to kill off a lot of my bottles before I move. Or at lest my not so great stuff. I have a few mostly full ones. So I see a lot of booze filled nights coming soon.

Earlier this month we were in Shenandoah and noticed a little road sign for a distillery. Since we'd already gone to breweries and wineries, we figured this was the next logical step. :)

It turned out to be this old warehouse down a side street of a tiny town where the guys malted, smoked and distilled single-malt whiskey and rye. The barely is an exclusive strain developed by a UVa prof and grown by ag students for course credit, and the malt is smoked with fruitwood. I think the tour was run by the distiller's mom.

The moral of the story is that Copper Fox makes really good whiskey.

Is it mid-September? That means it's time for pumpkin beer!  So far, I've gotten:

Punkin Ale (Dogfish Head Brewery)
Pumking (Southern Tier Brewing)
Night Owl Pumpkin Ale (Elysian Brewing)
Post Road Pumpkin Ale (Brooklyn Brewery)
Imperial Pumpkin (Long Trail Brewing)

Cigar City's Great Gourd is on my list of pumpkin beers to try
Terrapin has one too, and its decent.

I still like Shipyard's Pumpkin Head Ale, but i feel like the quality of it has gone down over the years.

I just tried Cigar City's Tangerine Ginger Ale and it was fantastic.

Coffee. French press coffee. I made it strong. REALLY strong. Next time less coffee. Its good though. Once I let it cool a bit its not as bitter. So all in all good.

Over the past few months, the Mrs. and I have been won over by the charms (and reasonable price) of Bulleit bourbon and rye.  But right now, I'm drinking martinis. Oh, gin and vermouth, how lovely you are together.
