We watched Source Code last night.  Duncan Jones (Bowie Jr.) has made another good movie.  I didn't enjoy it as much as Moon, but it's a great movie nonetheless.  Jake Gyllenhaal is solid as always.

Forgot to mention that I watched Possession - which was excellent if patchy. Recommend to anyone who's ever wondered what the lovechild of Dario Argento and David Lynch might've produced if they went back in time to the late 70s.

I just discovered that Tetsuo: The Bullet Man is on Netflix instant queue. I'll finally have to check this movie out.

For lack of anything better to do, watched Ironman 2 the other night as we waited for the in-laws and step-kiddo to arrive.  PLEASE DON'T SHOOT I HAVEN'T READ THE BLOODY COMIC!  Mostly I was just upset that Tony and Nat-asha/alie never did anything.  Robert Downey Jr. + Scarly Jo?  Yes please!  ;)  No, I can't tell you why I like him.  Beloved found him rather incongruous with my usual tastes.  I just do.  It was a decent time killer, but I think some elements of history must have translated kind of poorly from page to screen.  It just felt shoe-horned in some places.

I watched a screener for a movie last night called Panic Button, not sure if any of you know this one, but it's a horror/thriller based on the unseen consequences of social networking, identity theft etc.  It was actually a really good effort for a low budget film and they seem to be trying hard by making spoof sites of the in-movie social networking site www.all2gethr.com (though unlike a lot of this type of online marketing, it's very tongue-in-cheek).

Watched Skyline last night...  found it unimpressive.  I was much angrier at the end of it, but I've cooled off.  I get what they were trying to do; it's an alien invasion from the perspective of Normal People.  No reason for the invasion is ever given, or even hinted at.  This is a fairly large part of my objection to the movie.  Another complaint stems from the fact that, if I wanted to see Normal People, I'd go to the mall or something.  I'd probably care about as much about the random strangers there as I did about the characters in the movie.  And, of course, [spoiler]in the end, the one guy who got blasted with the blue light twice without getting beamed away manages to take over one of the aliens' weird harvester robots to save the day, but[/spoiler] the movie ends before anything really comes of it.

It had potential.  It really COULD have been a good alien movie, while still taking a different path.  They just didn't quite get it right.

My brother won passes to see Tekken in 3D.

I laughed a lot. Definitely a movie you can't take seriously -- like most game to movie translations.

I watched The Adjustment Bureau.  It started out cool but ended kind of lame.

I went and saw Super 8 the weekend before and loved it as I figured I would.  I keep waiting for JJ to create something I don't enjoy.  I definitely saw 3 short shots in that film that were direct takes from Goonies, E.T., and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The Adjustment Bureau was a great story! Philip K Dick is always good.
I still need to read the story itself, to compare, but i liked it a lot.
it wasn't THE BEST movie, but it kept me pretty entertained, and I thought
they did a good job and the development of the two main characters.


just watched Captain America, for what it was,
it was pretty good. One of the better Marvel movies for sure.

looking forward to The Avengers.
