Why, IMO, Crazy Fangirl is a stupid bitch.  From her review of TGWTDT:

could have done, however, without the Nine Inch Nails, “NIN” self-ingratiating promotional grandstanding emblazoned on the T-shirt of one of Lisbeth’s computer hacker friends. We get it Trent, we know about your band and would appreciate the same cerebral subtly as your score.

I seriously doubt Ol'Gloomy demanded a product placement as part of his contract.  That's what they call an "in-joke," Arlene, but I wouldn't expect you know about that.  Show of hands: how many of you who spotted it just had a little chuckle and moved on?

And a "professional" journalist who cannot spell s-u-b-t-l-e-t-y has no credibility anyway.

really though

this adaptation is amazing. it really feels like its own film and not just a remake, or an adaptation. i think fincher has a good knack for that kind of thing. the violence is cringe-worthy yet not overdone or blown out of proportion. it was good to see a movie that actually had me excited when things were supposed to be exciting and disgusted when the content called for that too. trent did a really good job at sewing his score around fincher's vision, and it really put everything in its place to set off whatever was happening visually. rooney mara's transformation is really impressive, and her portrayal is extremely convincing.

i give this film a strong A, and recommend it entirely.

Life in a day

It's a documentary on Netflix. It takes place on July 24th, 2010 and it's footage from all over the world of tiny slices of life. Some happy, some sad. It's really interesting to see all of these different walks of life within the time frame of a single day.

Whilst I believe what you say and it probably won't affect my watching it (I will by the way, I loved the originals), did it really need a remake?  It always just seems like a way of cashing in on the people who refuse to watch a subtitled movie at the cinema - and good or bad, a remake in the English language will make a tremendous amount more than any original in a forgeign language, sad fact of my work.

I probably have a bias to this because after reading the book, I watched the American version and then the original. That being said, I connected with the american versions characters more. A remake probably wasn't necessary, and it rarely ever is, but the film is in existence now, and from the music, to the actors, and the director I found the American version stronger, probably because there was a bigger budget.

Let the right one in and let me in come to mind. I watched both and like both for different reasons. The minor details and casting. How certain scenes were shot, etc.

It really just comes down to preference.

Oh, and that's awesome, individual. I do remember that clip.
