TV thread: whatcha watching?
« on: February 13, 2017, 11:15:50 PM »
Am I the only one still watching the walking dead? Every episode feels like a fucking chore but for some reason I just keep watching. What a god awful show this has become

I didn't even bother with the mid-season finale.  I think we have it downloaded somewhere, but it's not a priority show whatsoever.  I think they make you hate it on purpose.

I've been watching Taboo with Tom Hardy, which is pretty cool.  The cinematography is worth the watch.

Also, The Expanse and The 100.  Both worthy follow-ups to Battlestar.
I assume I need no introduction.

Ok the 100 I have in my list I think that might be up next.  We just finished a series of unfortunate events which was great. B had a bit of a fit talking to our cable company and cancelled HBO so now I'm missing all the stuff...trying to convince him to turn it back on

I've been watching, but I usually queue up a bunch of episodes then plow through a half-season as quickly as possible.  Its much more digestible that way.  So, I'll just be avoiding spoilers for the next couple months, then do an episode a night until I'm caught up.

100 starts like any other shitty teeny CW show, but stick with it.  The levels of fucked up that it builds towards are actually pretty neat.

Black Sails is back for its last season, which is also an awesome and enjoyable show, if you're in to pirates.

I also really liked Legion, which is a sort of an X-Men spin-off.  Never in a million years did I think that character would get a chance to shine, and it turns out that a series was the best idea to dive into it.

If I'm bored, I'll throw on an episode of From Dusk Till Dawn, just for the schlock.
I assume I need no introduction.

I still need to see that.

Current TV guilty pleasures are sadly a lot of CW programming. because at my heart I'll forever be a teen tumlbrina.

We don't have cable anymore (well, the spouse has an antenna to pick up whatever channels he can) so any TV I watch now is on Amazon Prime.  I recently finished the third season of Mozart in the Jungle which is a show I like very much.  Right now I'm watching Z: The Beginning of Everything, which also appeals to the lit nerd in me.  And of course The Grand Tour, which I don't think is quite as good as Top Gear used to be, but it's charming enough.  And then various older shows from their collection - like I'm almost finished with the first series of Torchwood.

I managed to miss the latest Sherlock series and the most recent season of Empire, boo.

Otherwise I just watch old British cooking shows on YouTube.

Nah, it's been off the air for a couple of years now, but Chichi and I binged through it fairly recently, and it's easily one of my favourite shows. :)
