WOOHOO!
« on: May 21, 2011, 12:28:00 PM »
HAPPY thread. Since we are always emo and have a vent thread but no happy thread.

My work shifts have gotten back to normal. Instead of being all over the place. Which is hella sweet. We are getting a bounce as well in June. So that is even better. It will go to my new tattoo. So even more betterer. (Its gona be the phi spiral around my tool logo tattoo, I want it to say "Spiral Out Keep Going" as well. WOOHOO!

Also I love to put ice in my drinks. Like when I drink soda pop or energy drinks I put in ice. I don't know why, but it makes me happy. I'm also lazy and just buy bags of ice. Cuz the trays suck. They are to big to eat... Yep.

I too put ice in all of my drinks, even in the winter.  It's helpful for when I'm at work because one of the clients will drink any sort of beverage you try to keep in the fridge, so you have to hide any drinks you bring in and if you want a cold drink you need ice.  I just keep a big bag of ice in the freezer there and now the other people at work are starting to use it too, which makes me feel less guilty about keeping it there and taking up so much space.

edit:  although I am somewhat peeved that they didn't ask me.  I mean, the answer would have been yes, but still.  Kind of presumptuous.

I got to cover for a teacher on a field trip Friday.  Four of them, in fact.  ???

I had about 30 kids.

That's the total from all day, mind you.

And I got paid for it.  8-)

Well, Theo is a... Petite prince. I... don't really speak any french.

It was ancient greek, so we don't get much of a chance to use the word "malaka", but I guess that works.

THEO EST UNE PETIT POMPLEMOUSSE!

I probably spelled (and conjugated) that 100% incorrectly.  Sadly, I could not remember the word for pinecone :(

Oh, haha, no, I wasn't *on* the field trip, the many teachers for whom I was subbing were,  Most of them were off to NY to do the museums, 7:30a to 10:30-11p.  Fuck that shit, I don't get paid enough as a sub to do a trip like that, even if doing the NY museums would be a pretty awesome thing to get paid for.  Doing the NY museums while herding a pack of high school students, not so awesome, I'd imagine.  More awesome if they were my kids, but not awesome as a sub.  That would be awful.

Rambling.  Stopping now.

I work with little kids, so most of the field trips lead to tears and whining.

Rave: cleaning the apartment and blasting music at a pretty deafening tone.

Elementary school field trips are CHAOS.

I blame it, mostly, on the fact that parents plop their kids in front of a TV/computer screen and don't actually *do* anything with them that requires leaving the house and engaging in socially acceptable public behavior.

My boss wants me to learn about industrial analyzers, which is cool.  It's a fairly narrow field but people who are real experts are highly regarded and sought-after, because not a lot of instrumentation people use process analyzers correctly.
