So glad you mentioned this!  I rarely get over there on my own (due to that whole willpower problem) and my kid sister is totally obsessed with the DMC series, so that might tickle her a bit.  I'll be keeping an eye over the next few days to see what else comes down to dirt ^.^

I took advantage of that to get Borderlands for $7.50 yesterday.

I need to finish Borderlands, although I don't have the GOTY edition. Let me know if you guys wanna get some co-op going.

I've managed to pass on a number of super cheap games by asking myself one simple question

"when am I ever going to actually play this"

I'll probably pick up Bloodlines at the end of the sale if it doesn't end up as a Daily Deal

So far just Runner, and Puzzle Agent 2 (which came out the first day of the sale, poor timing)

That's the exact reason I hardly buy ANY games anymore, regardless of sale pricing. And really, there's only 2 games I'm in the middle of playing and need to finish and 2 open ended play-whenever games. And then a backlog of 20-30 other games I want to play and haven't bought.

Hell, I run the largest Rock Band Nights in the entire bay area and I don't even play Rock Band at home anymore. It feels a little blasphemous to say but it's true.

Small aside, while I like Steam as a concept, I think the program itself is a clunky piece of shit.

Yeah, the Steam client can annoy the bejeezus out of me somedays too.  I don't know what Valve's programmers are doing to that thing, but I swear moving from IE to the well-documented-to-be-way-faster Webkit rendering engine actually slowed their shit down a lot.

Got a few hours into Mass Effect 2.  I was not expecting the story to take such an extreme turn right at the beginning, and being that I've been playing the game super-Paragon style (I figure my Shephard is essentially Jean-Luc Picard with hair) I'm not sure how that's going to clash with the story.  I'm hoping a bunch of moral ambiguity and ugly grey zones don't crop up in the plot that end up annoying me.

In terms of gameplay, some of the changes I like (party order controls are significantly easier, powers seem more effective, cover controls are smarter and easier to work with, character textures are significantly more detailed) and a lot of them I don't (finite ammo for practically all weapons, flying around the galaxy map is just silly, clunky resource kerjiggering for upgrades, character animations are definitely more stiff and amateurish-looking, and planet surveying is going to get real annoying real fast).

Even still, with the way this game is slowly laying things out, I have a feeling this one's going to take me a lot longer than the last one.  Right now, I'm not minding that thought.  Despite my complaints, its still awesomesauce.

Add me on Steam! NDRuno

I have a lot of other games too if you guys fancy anything like TF2, CS: Source, BC2, etc.

I didn't get one of the "massive sweeping" beta invites for TOR. I'm a bit disappointed since apparently nearly ten (or more) friends of mine DID get an invite, but at least this way the game will be more fun when I first try it.

Finished Mass Effect 2 last night.  It was good, but overall I'm not impressed with how the story was put together in comparison to its predecessor.
In the first game, when you're given a bunch of missions and you get to choose which order you do them in, each mission still peels back a small layer of the overall plot, and reveals another little piece of information about the Protheans/Reapers.  In this game, even though the primary enemy is now the Collectors, the vast majority of your missions have absolutely nothing to do with actually dealing with the Collectors.  You're usually bouncing around the galaxy collecting people you've never heard of or helping them do something for completely arbitrary reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with stopping the Collectors from attacking human colonies.

From a storytelling standpoint, its really hackneyed and stilted and "gamey" when compared to the excellent methods put forth in the first game.
I get the feeling a lot was held back for the finale.
